I specialize in working with folx with:

  • ADHD

  • Autism

  • AuDHD (the combo of ADHD + Autism)

  • cPTSD and PTSD

  • Bipolar I and II

  • OCD (particularly pure O and Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria)

  • Dissociative Disorders

Most of us as therapists don’t get a ton of training on neurodivergence in school. I already see this shifting in the profession, but it can be tricky to find someone who gets the interplay of different diagnoses and the way different brains work. We can work through the process of figuring out your particular flavor of neurodivergence together. My approach is not to “cure” these conditions or to achieve a neurotypical standard, and I do not support ABA practices due to their long-term traumatic impact. My goal is to help you identify what you want for yourself separate from meeting an external expectation and to explore what the barriers are for you in getting there.

It can be really helpful to process these barriers with other people. Check out my Neurodivergent Self-Sabotage group to see if it might be a good fit. I’ve included a bit of a brain break on this page by including some pretty cool special interests. I’d love to learn about yours.

What to Expect

Understanding your specific sensory profile and what accommodations you need is the foundation. After that, we’re usually processing trauma that has gotten embedded over time. Many people internalize painful experiences of feeling misunderstood, alone or rejected. It creates an experience where living authentically feels like an automatic precursor to pain.

We know that a lot of neurodivergence is genetic, which often means the way your parents have managed their brains ends up being the way they respond to you. Whether they intend to or not, this frequently creates complex PTSD symptoms.

I write letters, as requested, to your workplace, school or medical providers. If you want to pursue accommodations or medication, I can help advocate for you. We can discuss the pros and cons of getting diagnosed from a psychologist.
